New Intel CPUs are only slightly faster than old ones
The officially unveiled 14th generation Intel Core processors were tested in the Factorio game. In this case, three new products took part in the test: Core i5-14600K, Core i7-14700K, and Core i9-14900K. By the way, Intel can present them on October 18, while the rest of the models in the line will be released later.
If we talk about comparing new products with their predecessors, then in the same order the increase is 1.2%, 6.8%, and 3.7%. Let us remind you that Core i7 will be the only model in the Raptor Lake Refresh line with an increased number of cores relative to their predecessors. Hence the more noticeable increase.
New Intel products tested in the game Factorio
In general, the increase is minimal, since the difference will only be in frequencies. Well, specifically in this game, Intel’s new products are much inferior to AMD Ryzen X3D processors, including the no longer the youngest eight-core Ryzen 7 5800X3D. If you look at other tests in Factorio, you can see that the game is very favorable to the huge cache of the Ryzen X3D, but not all games behave this way.
