New Peter Parker, 60 fps and ray tracing: Sony talks about Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Insomniac Games have released an updated version of the action-adventure Marvel’s Spider-Man, which will appear exclusively on PlayStation 5 as part of the expanded edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

The Insomniac Games team has strived to significantly improve Marvel’s Spider-Man. The next-gen console version received updated graphics: in addition to refined object and material models, there was support for ray tracing, thanks to which reflections and shadows should look more realistic. The quality of the sky and weather conditions have also changed.

In addition, in the redesigned version of the game, the appearance of the characters has also changed: their smallest details look better, including shaders for the skin, eyes, and teeth, as well as separately traced strands of hair. Insomniac Games made a new face for Peter Parker. If earlier the studio used the face model of John Bubniak, now Ben Jordan has become the prototype.

Marvel’s Spider-Man performance has also changed. In Performance Mode, you can play action-adventure at a target of 60 fps. Also on the PlayStation 5, there will be near-instant scene loading, 3D spatial sound, and support for DualSense controller features.

Finally, the updated version will be replenished with three suits. One of them is straight from The Amazing Spider-Man with Andrew Garfield.
