The database of the service allegedly collected over 10 million photos and videos.
Kaspersky Lab experts have revealed the details of a new fraudulent scheme in Telegram. Attackers lure people into a chatbot that supposedly runs on ChatGPT 4.0 code.
The authors of the bot claim that it can be used to search for “leaked” photos of a person, having a link to his profile on social networks or a phone number. The goal of scammers is to steal users’ money.
The description of the chatbot says that more than 10 thousand people have already used it, and over 10 million photos and videos have been collected in the service database. The authors of the bot suggest checking a romantic partner in this way.
New scheme in Telegram
If you start the chatbot, a message will appear asking you to send a link to the profile of the person of interest in one of several popular social networks. After that, the service will begin to imitate the work process – first it will display the message “search in progress”, and then “page found in the database” and “material is being sent”. At this stage, the person will see screenshots with a hidden image. The authors of the bot indicate the expected date of the leak of materials and the number of intimate photos and videos found with a person.
At this point, the user is informed that the photos have already been collected and are ready to be sent. However, to get them, you need to pay 399 rubles for a one-time access to the database or 990 rubles for unlimited access. If you transfer money, the person does not receive any photos, and the attackers get their money.
