The government wants it to be installed on all smartphones

The coronavirus pandemic has already made significant adjustments to our lives, even if we exclude temporary quarantine. And the consequences of the events taking place now maybe even more global.

New world order. In India, the government commits the installation of an application that tracks the movements and contacts of people

While Western countries are actively discussing the need to use applications that track the movements and contacts of users, in India this application is already a reality.

A program called Aarogya Setu has already been installed on smartphones of 80 million people because some time ago the government of India ordered all government employees to install it. Now the government has extended the decree to the private sector. The goal is to reach all smartphone users in the country, which number about 350 million.

The application is simple enough. Using GPS, it captures all movements of the user and using Bluetooth, all other smartphones that fall into the adapter’s action field. Each person is assigned an identification number stored in the application. When, as a result, a coronavirus is detected in a person, this data goes to the Aarogya Setu database, and then everyone who has been near this person in recent days or just passed by receives a notification.

The system is as simple as possible and probably very effective. True, there is one big but. In many countries, you simply cannot oblige people to use such programs, as this violates their rights. However, in India this, if any, does not bother anyone.
