It has a higher frequency with the same architecture
According to assumptions, the Samsung Galaxy S21 series will be presented as early as January next year. According to rumors, it will include the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 + and Galaxy S21 Ultra, which will receive the Snapdragon 875 and Exynos 2100 SoCs in different regions.
Newest SoC Exynos 2100 may be better than Snapdragon 875 in Samsung Galaxy S21
Snapdragon 875 and Exynos 2100 should be based on 5nm manufacturing process and use “1 + 3 + 4” architecture. However, the two platforms may differ in processor core frequencies, according to sources.
According to the latest information, the frequency of one super-fast Cortex-X1 core in the Snapdragon 875 will be 2.84 GHz, the frequency of the three fast Cortex-A78 cores will be 2.42 GHz, and the frequency of the energy-efficient Cortex A55 cores will be 1.8 GHz. As for the Exynos 2100, the source names the following frequencies: 2.91, 2.81 and 2.21 GHz, respectively.
In addition, there are reports that the Exynos 2100 will receive a better energy efficiency ratio than previous generations. This means that the SoC will have good power management, meaning users don’t have to worry about the SoC consuming more power than the Snapdragon 875.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 is also expected to be the first Qualcomm Snapdragon 875-powered smartphone in China to have an exclusive post-launch period.
