Acer today introduced a new generation of gaming laptops – Predator Helios 16 and Predator Helios 18. The “predators” of the Taiwanese company have not only become more powerful – they have received a qualitatively new display.
For both models, panels are available with a diagonal of 16 and 18 inches (the type is not specified, but most likely IPS), with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and a frame rate of 165 or 240 Hz. But for a surcharge, you can get a laptop with a Mini LED display (AUO AmLED) and a frame rate of 250 Hz – with a brightness of 1000 cd / sq.m and coverage of 100% of the DCI-P3 color space.
The hardware platform includes 13th generation Intel Core i9 and Core i7 HX processors (in the top version with 24 cores) and a GeForce RTX 4080 with a TDP of 165W. Maximum 32GB DDR5-4800MHz RAM, 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD.
Other laptop features include an RGB backlit keyboard, Wi-Fi 6E adapter, a pair of Thunderbolt 4 ports, and HDMI 2.1 video output. The simplest configurations are priced at $1,650 and $1,700 (US) for the Predator Helios 16 and Helios 18, respectively. And versions with a Mini LED screen start at $2,800 and $3,000 respectively.
