NieR: Automata hits new peak in sales – 5 million copies

Publisher Square Enix and developer studio Platinum Games in the official microblogging of the NieR series announced that the RPG action movie NieR: Automata has reached a new peak in sales.

The latest recorded achievement of NieR: Automata until recently was considered 4.85 million copies – this figure was announced by Square Enix during its presentation at the Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online in September.

Since then, exactly three months, NieR: Automata has added 150,000 copies to its account. This means that since the release, more than 5 million copies of the game have been sold worldwide.

As always, this figure includes both shipments of boxed editions of NieR: Automata to retail stores and copies of the project sold directly via digital services.

The speed of sales of NieR: Automata over time is quite expectedly declining: the first million submitted to the action RPG in just a month from the western release. Over the next month and a half, another 500 thousand copies were sold.

The mark of 3 million shipped copies of NieR: Automata left behind a year and three months after the release, while the action movie Platinum Games announced today reached almost four years (without three months) after the premiere.

NieR: Automata is available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One (including Xbox Game Pass ). Last summer, the blogger discovered an analogue of the photo mode for developers in the game .
