Nioh and Dead or Alive creators are preparing several new games for 2021

Studio Team Ninja recently revealed what will give the Nioh franchise a break. But this does not mean that the developers themselves took a break. In an interview with Japanese media outlet 4Gamer, studio head Fumihiko Yasuda said Team Ninja will announce several new games next year.

Team Ninja was founded as one of Tecmo’s teams in 1995. Originally known for Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden, the studio has also worked on the action-adventure Metroid: Other M, the fighting game Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, offshoots of Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors, and the co-op action game Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order. Recently, Team Ninja has been associated with Nioh.

But it’s time to move on. In an interview with 4Gamer, Yasuda said, “In February we will release Nioh 2 Remastered: Complete Edition and The Nioh Collection – the latter containing all the parts of the Nioh series – for PlayStation 5. I hope this will provide an opportunity for both gamers and new gamers to see how Nioh runs on a new generation console. We’re also preparing to announce several new games from Team Ninja in 2021, so stay tuned

It is not known if these announcements will be about new intellectual property or games from existing franchises. Earlier, Yasuda mentioned that the development of the yet unannounced projects will begin in 2021.
