Apple’s new smartphones won’t get one of the most requested features

The iPhone 12 is set to become the most advanced Apple smartphone ever with 5G support and 120Hz screens. However, if 5G will definitely be (but not in the base iPhone 12 mini), then Apple refused displays with a high frame rate for some reason.

No 120 Hz screens on iPhone 12

This was announced by insider Jon Prosser on Twitter. The source is reliable, for example, it has already published renders of AirTags and AirPods Studio headphones – products that were supposed to debut on October 13 along with the iPhone 12. But so far their premiere has not been confirmed: according to Prosser, due to the coronavirus pandemic, AirTags have been postponed until next spring, and mass production of AirPods Studio has not yet started.

As for the 120 Hz screens, the reason why Apple refused them is not reported. But we can think that the increasing power consumption in this mode and, accordingly, decreasing autonomy is to blame.
