No animals, no non-lethal target elimination and New Game +: Director Deathloop answered fan questions

Death loop director Dinga Bakaba answered fan questions about the game in an exclusive video on the Game Informer YouTube channel.

Recall that the events of Deathloop unfold on the Black Reef Island, where the mercenary Colt Van gets stuck in a time loop. Eight ideologists prevent the hero from getting out – all of them will eventually need to be killed in one day.

According to Bakaba, Deathloop will not offer the non-lethal method of eliminating targets that were in Dishonored. Still, it will not prevent players from completing the passage with the minimum number of kills (eight).

The project does not assume the “New Game +” mode. Banaba assures that the developers tried to “build interest in a replay in the structure” of Deathloop itself, thus saturating fans of replaying games.

At the same time, the director admitted that after the premiere of Deathloop, the team could start experimenting with the idea of a “New Game +” but not the standard one, but slightly “wilder.”

In addition to Colt, users in Deathloop will take control (not immediately) of the hunter Julianne Blake (she can also be controlled by artificial intelligence), who is also a visionary.

Playing as Julianne, gamers will be able to unlock additional abilities, weapons, and personalization items for the heroine and alternative skins for the Colt.

Also, Bakaba confirmed that Deathloop does not have any animals as well as friendly NPCs. However, the developer mentioned that in this matter, Arkane Studios might “break the rules” but did not go into details.
