No kidding this time: Platinum Games and Hamster Corporation announce arcade shooter Sol Cresta

One year ago, on April 1, 2020, Platinum Games introduced the arcade shooter Sol Cresta. It was allegedly planned to be exclusive of the Neo-Classic Arcade and sold with it in a set for $ 17 thousand. The announcement turned out to be a joke, which, by the way, did not appeal to all users. And today, April 1, 2021, a full demo of Sol Cresta for PC (Steam), PS4, and Nintendo Switch took place. The game is indeed being developed in partnership with the Hamster studio.

Sol Cresta is the spiritual successor to Moon Cresta and Terra Cresta. Judging by the first trailer, users will control the flying machine and destroy enemies. The player’s ship can be split into three parts, which opens up access to special firing modes. Among the opponents, warships of various sizes are seen, which fire a variety of shells. Sol Cresta’s gameplay is highly dynamic: during the passage, you will have to quickly adapt to all kinds of situations, dodge enemy volleys, and change the mode of firing.
