Dreams Incorporated and SYCK CEO Carlos Rocha thanked the players for their interest in the project. “We started working on the game in 2014, ” he said. – I hope you understand that we put our hearts into it.  Most of the employees became friends due to the fact that together they believed in what seemed impossible – in the possibility of creating a video game that follows the traditions of the golden age jRPG and at the same time offers some genre innovations. We would never have thought that Cris Tales would attract so much attention and that players would believe in our dream as much as we do. ”

This Friday, the developers will answer gamers’ questions in an AMA session on Reddit.

The player takes on the role of Crispell, the sorceress of time, traveling with her companions through fairy kingdoms. Their task is to stop the powerful Time Empress and rewrite the future of the world and all its inhabitants. The heroine is able to look into the past and change the future using the knowledge gained. This feature is at the heart of a key mechanic: the user simultaneously has access to the present, past, and future.

During the journey, players will have to make decisions that will have far-reaching consequences for their companions and the world around them. Each battle must strive “not just throw the enemy attacks and search for unusual ways to change what is happening with the help of Krisbell abilities”.

The authors call Cris Tales “classic jRPG love confessions” and note that they were inspired by Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, and Valkyrie Profile, as well as more modern Bravely Default and Persona 5. She is distinguished by “a unique combination of non-linear stories, innovative combat system, and levels in the spirit of traditional RPGs. ” All images for the game are hand-drawn and the locations are inspired by real-life locations in Colombia.

The project was announced at the PC Gaming Show during E3 2019. Soon the developers released a demo version for Steam and GOG, and this year it appeared on consoles, including the Nintendo Switch. RPG has been voted one of the best games at the LA Show by many gaming publications (Best Indie Game by Gaming Trend and Wccftech, Best PC Game by DualShockers).

Cris Tales will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and later on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. It will be available in seven languages, among which there is no Russian.
