Nokia is only in fifteenth place in the ranking of smartphone suppliers
Typically, analytical companies name only five or ten leading manufacturers when compiling ratings of smartphone suppliers. Counterpoint Technology Market Research, at the request of Nokiamob.net, provided data on Nokia brand devices that are not included in the Top-10.
Recall that smartphones and phones under the Nokia brand are produced by the Finnish company HMD Global. According to Counterpoint Technology, Market Research estimates, only 2.8 million Nokia smartphones were sold in the fourth quarter of 2020, which corresponds to a 0.7% share and fifteenth place in the list of the largest market players. At the same time, compared with the third quarter of last year, the demand for Nokia smartphones jumped by a third – by 35%.
Nokia is doing much better in the segment of conventional mobile phones. In the last quarter of 2020, 12.7 million such devices were sold, which is 26% more compared to the third quarter of last year. Nokia’s share in this sector is 16% – it is second after the leader iTel with 22%.
Thus, according to the results of the last quarter of last year, a total of 15.5 million cell phones were shipped. In 2020, in total, about 46.6 million devices were sold under the Nokia brand, including 8.0 million smartphones and 38.6 million cell phones.
