Another CIPA report published
The Japanese Camera Manufacturers Association CIPA, which unites Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Ricoh, Sony, and other photographic equipment companies, has published another batch statistics on sales of digital cameras and interchangeable lenses. The corresponding graphs now include data for October of the current year. Judging by the charts, October is still the best month of the current year for the specified market, although it did not even reach last year’s indicators.
October is still the best month of the year in terms of camera sales
During the month, 1,134,888 digital cameras were sold, which is 77.2% of the level reached in October last year. Note that in September sales were equal to 67.8% compared to September last year.
Sales of cameras with interchangeable lenses amounted to 754 658 units, 86.4% of the figure for October last year. For comparison: in September, 605,843 cameras were sold, or 69.6% of the indicator a year ago.
380,230 compact cameras were sold in October, which is 63.7% of the October last year. It is noteworthy that the chart’s movement relative to September exactly repeated the movement in previous years.
