Chevrolet Bolt came out in 2016
General Motors has finally confirmed that the next-generation Chevrolet Bolt EV will debut in 2025. GM CEO Mary Barra made the announcement yesterday at the Automotive Press Association in Detroit.
“Sales have been great this year and that led to the decision that we will be back with a new model in ’25,” Barra said, although she did not provide any additional details about the future electric vehicle.

In October, Barra said the next-generation Chevy Bolt will use “the best features of today’s Bolt EUV, as well as Ultium, the latest software, and NACS.” In doing so, GM will save “billions in capital and engineering costs by delivering a significantly more fuel-efficient battery using LFP technology.” Additionally, moving to LFP will allow GM to have “substantially lower” unit costs.
Mary Barra said the new vehicle “will provide an even better driving, charging and ownership experience than the vehicle we know customers love.”
First released in late 2016, the Bolt has consistently been popular in the US due to its low price and compact design.
