Oklahoma investigators have identified the woman responsible for the tragic deaths of her three children and herself after an intense standoff with police in Verdigris on Thursday.

The woman, identified as Brandy McCaslin, 39, took the lives of her children before ending her own, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI).

The triple murder-suicide occurred in the small town of Verdigris, just northeast of Tulsa. Police officers on patrol noticed fireworks outside a home near East Dogwood Court and Cypress Street around 4 p.m. on Thursday, prompting them to investigate further.
