OnePlus has offered to place the front camera of the smartphone in an ultra-thin frame above the display
OnePlus is considering creating a smartphone with an unusual front camera design. The description of the device appeared on the website of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
OnePlus is suggesting that there is no hole or notch in the display. Instead, the selfie unit is proposed to be installed on a very narrow frame above the show.
This design will allow you to use a screen that occupies almost the entire area of the case’s front surface. Besides, there is no need to use a retractable or swivel camera, the mechanism of which can cause complaints from the point of view of reliability.
The back of the device will house a multi-module primary camera. It can be enclosed in a rectangular block with rounded corners.
It is about the presence of an asymmetrical USB Type-C port and sides physical control buttons. Alas, while the smartphone exists only in patent documentation. Whether OnePlus is planning a commercial device with the described design is not clear.
