Only one OnePlus 9 series smartphone will receive water and dust protection
In the first quarter of the coming year, the presentation of the flagship smartphones of the OnePlus 9 family is expected. As the date of the announcement approaches, information about these devices is overgrown with new details.
Rumours are confirmed that the series will include three models – the basic version of the OnePlus 9, as well as modifications to the OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 9E. However, only one of them will receive protection from moisture and dust according to the IP standard (Ingress Protection).
In particular, it is argued that the senior member of the family, OnePlus 9 Pro, will have IP68 certification. This means that it will be able to withstand half an hour submersion underwater to a depth of one and a half meters.
Thus, when creating OnePlus 9 devices, the developer decided to follow the path of the previous generation devices. Recall that among the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro models, only the older one has protection against moisture and dust.
The OnePlus 9 series smartphones are credited with having a 120Hz display and a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with an integrated 5G modem. New items will differ in the configuration of the camera and the amount of memory. They will go on sale with the OxygenOS 11 operating system based on Android 11 out of the box.
