demand is too high, requests to ChatGPT cannot be processed in time
The American company OpenAI announced a temporary suspension of registration of users of the paid subscription ChatGPT Plus, its generative artificial intelligence system. This move was confirmed by OpenAI director Sam Altman on his official page on the social network X (formerly known as Twitter).
OpenAI has suspended registration of new ChatGPT Plus users
Altman explained the decision by saying that the surge in ChatGPT usage after the DevDay event had “exceeded the capabilities” of the company. Altman advises those interested in signing up for ChatGPT Plus to sign up for in-app notifications to be notified when the opportunity becomes available again.
Pausing new user registrations will not impact existing ChatGPT Plus subscribers and they will continue to have access to GPT 4 and other benefits.
