OpenCritic warns: PS4 and Xbox One versions of Cyberpunk 2077 should not be bought until February

Foreign publications have published several reviews of Cyberpunk 2077, played on the basic versions of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. At the same time, the OpenCritic website added a warning to the project page that the performance and quality of role-playing shooter on PC, next-generation systems, PS4 and Xbox One differ significantly.

While Cyberpunk 2077 is a commercial success for CD Projekt RED, the RPG’s launch was fraught with serious technical issues on the base PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which led to poor press and gamer reviews. Because of this, the developers apologized and promised to release fixes in the coming months.

Of course, one of the main points of criticism for most people was the fact that CD Projekt RED intentionally did not show the game on the base PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and also did not send out the console version codes to reporters for reviews until the release of Cyberpunk 2077. Many of those who pre-ordered the project on consoles, felt cheated. And the OpenCritic review aggregation site posted a warning on the game pages in this regard:

“Please Note: This game varies significantly in performance, gaming experience and review scores between PCs, next-gen consoles, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The OpenCritic team and several critics suspect that the developer, CD Projekt RED, was deliberately trying to hide the true state of the game. on Xbox One and PS4 by allowing only pre-processed game content in reviews and not issuing review copies for PS4 and Xbox One .

This notice will be displayed on the page until February 2021. That’s when CD Projekt RED should release its second major update aimed at improving the quality of Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Notably, the game’s average rating has dropped from 91 points to 86 at the time of writing.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released on December 10 on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The Xbox Series X and S and PlayStation 5 versions will go on sale in 2021.
