OPPO unveils AR glasses that can track hand movements and look like regular glasses

OPPO, as promised, has announced the next generation of augmented reality glasses. A gadget called AR Glass 2021 debuted at the INNO Day event in Shenzhen (Guangdong Province, China).

The device is equipped with 0.71-inch OLED-panels, which are responsible for information visualization. Powered by Birdbath optical technology, which is said to provide a 53% increase in contrast and 98% brightness uniformity compared to first-generation glasses.

The novelty is equipped with an improved sound system. The gadget is said to render an image equivalent to viewing a 90-inch display from a distance of three meters.

The glasses are equipped with a stereo fisheye camera and a ToF sensor for collecting depth data. The device is capable of highly accurate tracking of hand movements, controlling up to 21 points on each of them.

Users will be able to interact with the voice assistant. The glasses can function as a wearable movie theater or, say, a headset for immersing yourself in virtual gaming space.

About when and at what price the new product will be on sale, nothing has been reported.
