The event was held in an online format – already in the tradition of 2020 and now 2021. The company paid special attention to the presentation of the cameras, the Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G uses a system with four sensors: 64-megapixel main camera, 2-megapixel macro module, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. The latter is used in smartphones for increased detail when shooting. The front-facing camera is made in the form of a dot notch in the upper left corner of the display and has a resolution of 32 megapixels.

Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G debuts AI Highlight Video system based on neural network. Basically, it is an algorithm that combines Oppo’s Ultra Night Video and Live HDR technologies. AI Highlight Video functions as follows: the neural network analyzes the environment and, in low light conditions, programmatically increases the exposure on certain areas of the frame in such a way as to highlight all the important details of the scene. And if the shooting is done in bright sun, AI Highlight Video, on the contrary, will reduce the exposure in certain zones to avoid highlights. Other manufacturers use similar algorithms in their devices – for example, Apple has Smart HDR technology, which it uses when shooting photos and videos on the iPhone.

To create high-quality photos in different lighting conditions, the company added an algorithm for adaptive adjustment of exposure, dynamic range and noise reduction.

Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G also has a mode for shooting portraits at night and recording video simultaneously on the main and front cameras. The video is shot in 4K resolution.

The rear glass has a matte texture and an iridescent effect. The case is 7.6 mm thick and weighs 173 grams.

The display in the Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G uses an AMOLED matrix with a diagonal of 6.55 inches and a resolution of 1080 × 2400 pixels. The display has a refresh rate of 90Hz, an aspect ratio of 20: 9, HDR 10+ support and 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut.

The Reno5 Pro 5G has a built-in 4350mAh battery with support for the Oppo Super VOOC 2.0 fast charge protocol. The smartphone comes with a 65-watt power supply that can fully charge the smartphone in just 30 minutes. And 5 minutes of charging can give the device 4 hours of video playback.

The flagship system on the Mediatek Dimensity 1000+ chip, created using a 7 nm process technology, is used as a processor. Mediatek Dimensity 1000+ includes a Mali-G77 video processor, as well as a network modem with support for 5G (sub-6) and Wi-Fi 6. The device also has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

The peak content download speed on a smartphone via 5G is 3.54 Gbps. To do this, the engineers built a system of several antennas that are located across the entire area of the rear of the case to ensure stable and fast data reception. As a demonstration at the event, they showed how in 11 seconds a smartphone can download a 1 GB movie via 5G.
