To make the screen more rigid, a special Warp Track layer was used, the thickness of which is only 0.1 mm
OPPO today unveiled the first folding screen smartphone called the Oppo X 2021, for which the company received 122 patents.
Oppo X 2021 presented: the first smartphone with a folding screen
This smartphone has an OLED screen that can be pulled out of the body, increasing the diagonal of the visible area from 6.7 inches to 7.4 inches. To create such a smartphone, the company created a new design that includes a small motor and a roller with a diameter of 6.8 mm. The design is such that when unfolded the screen is absolutely flat and rigid.
Oppo says this design makes it more convenient to use the smartphone for different purposes: when watching videos, playing games, web browsers, instant messengers, using the camera, and so on.
To make the screen more rigid, a special Warp Track layer was used, the thickness of which is only 0.1 mm.
So far, the company hasn’t provided more details on the specs of the smartphone and whether we might ever see it in stores.
