The device has two hinges and can offer users a different screen diagonal depending on the needs
Oppo has yet to launch a foldable smartphone on the market, but the manufacturer has introduced a more advanced device than its competitors.
Oppo’s unique slideshow unveiled
The Chinese brand today unveiled a new concept phone that was developed in collaboration with Japanese design studio Nendo. The device, which Oppo calls a “slide-phone”, has a unique design.
The device has two hinges and can offer users different screen sizes depending on their needs. If you open the smartphone from the folded state, as shown in the second picture, then you get a 1.5-inch screen, which is enough to check notifications or access the music player.
As you move the body further up, you get a 3.15-inch display, which is convenient for taking photos and videos and some regular games. When fully unfolded, the phone has a 7-inch screen with narrow bezels. The device turns out to be very elongated, in this format it is well suited for simultaneous work with several applications.
The Oppo Slidephone also has a stylus that can be stowed away into the body of the phone. There are three cameras and an LED flash on the outside of the phone. Since the company is still focusing on the design of the phone, its specifications have not been disclosed.
The company has not announced the release date of such a smartphone, but it is unlikely that it will appear on the market even next year.
