Outriders lay down and does not get up: server problems have been observed on all platforms for the second day
Released yesterday, the co-op RPG shooter Outriders appears to be more popular than Square Enix, and People Can Fly expected. The influx of players was so great that the project’s servers lay down for all platforms.
Even though Outriders is a co-op game with up to three people per session and not an MMO, Square Enix and People Can Fly have faced several networking issues since day one. Both yesterday and today, users complain about unstable server operations: problems with logging in, connecting with friends, latency, and disconnections.
The Outriders team is working diligently to address all of these issues. It’s not immediately clear what causes them, but it looks like the project uses P2P (peer-to-peer network) for multiplayer. This means that one player in the lobby is the host for their friends.

- Finally, at 22:49 Moscow time, the studio published a message that it will shut down the servers to solve the problems that have arisen: “A complete shutdown will allow us to rebuild and restore the server infrastructure to return it to a working and stable state. “
Outriders are out on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and S. The game supports cross-platform multiplayer and is also available Xbox Game Pass subscribers for consoles.
