Outriders May Follow Diablo III Path in Post-Release Content Support
Portal GamesRadar + spoke with creative director Outriders Bartosz Kmit (Bartosz Kmita). In the conversation, the leader said which way the team can release content after the release. It turns out that the developers are considering the Diablo III model since they created their project with an eye on it.
The chapter’s commentary reads: “Take, for example, the main game that inspired us, Diablo [III]. Diablo was not a service game. They [Blizzard Entertainment] just released big expansions. They implemented this [post-release support] in a different style. Perhaps we will go the same way or even do something different. But we will definitely not give up the game if the players like it. “
GamesRadar + received this announcement even before Outriders had strong sales on Steam. Apparently, in the future, the project will still receive some supplements. For now, we can only say that they will not contain microtransactions. Developers at People Can Fly do not plan to use such a monetization model.
Outriders were released on April 1, 2021, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Series S, and Google Stadia.
