Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge may be upset. Their smartphones will no longer receive scheduled security patches.

Devices came out four years ago

Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge smartphones will no longer receive ongoing security updates. Released in 2016, the flagships received major Android updates for two years, and then another two years – security patches once a quarter. The last such patch was released for these models in March, and now smartphones have disappeared from the list of supported ones on the company’s website.

Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge may be upset. Their smartphones will no longer receive scheduled security patches.

The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge may still someday receive a security update, but this will only be done if a critical vulnerability is detected.

The Galaxy S7 Active model is still present on the Samsung website, but it was released later – in June 2016. So, probably, the next quarterly update will be the last for her.
