Hurry up to complete Ghost Recon: Future Soldier in co-op: Ubisoft has added to the list of old games for an early shutdown of servers

Hurry up to complete Ghost Recon: Future Soldier in co-op: Ubisoft has added to the list of old games for an early shutdown of servers

Publishing Ubisoft announced the expansion of the list of old projects, which will soon be expected to close the multiplayer online services. They will lose network functions, including news feed and user statistics services. Affected games will continue to operate the single-player and related features.

Previously, Ubisoft announced that some of the games (their PC versions) dubbed below would lose their online functions on May 22. As it became known, the publisher shifted the server shutdown date to June 1:

  • Assassin’s Creed 2;
  • Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands;
  • Far Cry 2;
  • Anno 140;
  • Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes;
  • Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction;
  • The Settlers 7;
  • Might & Magic X – Legacy.

This year the same fate will befall Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Lockdown, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. The shutdown of the online services of these four projects affects both the PC version. And for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This means that once the servers are closed, players will no longer play these shooters in co-op mode (where available) on the Web.

If the game supports Ubisoft Connect, then after disconnecting online services, users will no longer earn points by performing certain actions. The rewards received in the project will also be unavailable – they can be unlocked but not used.

Shutting down servers for older games with small online audiences is “necessary” as it will allow its IT staff to “better focus on providing great online experiences for the vast majority of customers playing newer, more popular games,” Ubisoft said.
