The document was issued on the basis of the decision of the State Commission on Radio Frequencies dated March 17, 2020, for the use by radio-electronic means of the 5G / IMT-2020 standard of the radio frequency band 24.25-24.65 GHz. The license was granted by Roskomnadzor for a period until July 16, 2025.

Business customers and large manufacturing enterprises are expected to be the first to appreciate the benefits of 5G services. MTS is already developing and testing 5G use cases in the dedicated band.

It is expected, in particular, that new networks will be in demand in industry, medicine, agriculture, logistics, retail, etc. Among the possible areas of application of 5G services are called: machine vision, predictive analytics, digital twins for equipment control, telemedicine complexes for remote surgical operations and patient monitoring, warehouse automation tools, systems for inspection of infrastructure facilities using drones, etc.“ Obtaining the first 5G license in Russia is a historic moment for the industry. We have become one step closer to a new era in the history of communication, digitalization, and the development of new IT solutions and products.
