Panasonic plans to release affordable full-frame mirrorless cameras with L mount
According to a Panasonic spokesperson, cameras with L mounts have allowed the company to occupy more than 10% of the market for full-size mirrorless cameras. This indicator is consistent with the manufacturer’s expectations. The best-selling Panasonic L mount camera is the Panasonic S1 . The company expects to consolidate its success by releasing more affordable full-frame mirrorless cameras of this system, which will allow it to enter the mass segment.
As for lenses, it is planned to release three models with fixed focal lengths by the end of 2021.
Another area of work remains the development of the Micro Four Thirds system. The company considers the compactness of cameras and lenses of this system to be an advantage, due to which they do not intersect in the market with full-frame cameras with L mount. But the release of APS-C format cameras with L mount is not planned.
