PC version of NieR: Automata from Microsoft Store and Xbox Games Pass is better available on Steam
Ordinary players and journalists have noticed that the PC version of NieR: Automata, released today in the Microsoft Store and Xbox Games Pass, differs from the Steam edition for the better.
Recall that NieR: Automata for PC suffers from technical problems that were not fixed either by the Game of the YoRHa Edition released in February 2019 or by patches – Square Enix has not released a single significant update.
The version for the Microsoft Store and Xbox Games Pass, as it turned out, was not based on the Game of the YoRHa Edition, but the edition with the subtitle Become As Gods, released in June 2018 on Xbox One.
Become As Gods does not include Valve’s accessory kit but offers borderless windowing and resolution work, as well as AMD’s adaptive detail enhancement (FidelityFX Contrast Adaptive Sharpening).
Also, users are reporting that the PC version of NieR: Automata, available on the Microsoft Store and Xbox Games Pass, performs more stable and even slightly better than the one offered for purchase on Steam.
However, the version of NieR: Automata, improved with the fan modification FAR (Fix Automata Resolution), is recognized by both users and journalists as the best option for getting to know the game on a PC.
NieR: Automata is available on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Since its premiere in February 2017 (Japanese release), the project has sold over 5.5 million copies worldwide.
