Photo of the day: view of Venus, Earth and Mars from the vicinity of the Sun

Today, space agencies ESA and NASA shared an incredible view of our planet, as well as Venus and Mars from the sun. The CNET portal reports about this.

The image was taken by the automated spacecraft Solar Orbiter (SolO), which is exploring the heliosphere. Simply put, it monitors the polar regions of the sun and records the origin of the solar wind. In the “off-hours” time, the device is engaged in photographing the surroundings. On December 27, 2020, the device made its first flight past Venus before that, it managed to capture such an incredible picture. The picture, by the way, was taken from the side of the Sun.

The image shows Venus (it is the brightest), below the Earth (it is average in the intensity of reflection of sunlight) and somewhere in the lower right corner, there is already Mars. This view very well resembles the way we see other planets from Earth.
