To avoid downloading the game
Sony has announced that cloud streaming on PlayStation 5 will be available to players this month.
The point is that PS5 owners will be able to launch games from the cloud without downloading them to the console. The only advantage of this option is that you don’t have to wait for the game to load or free up space on the SSD if there is not enough free space for a new game.
Play PlayStation 5 games without downloading them to your console.
Depending on the region, the new feature will appear on PS5 from October 17 to October 30. Initially, it will not be available everywhere: in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Great Britain, USA and Cyprus.
PS Plus Premium subscribers will be able to take advantage of the new feature. Not all games will be available as part of this function, but a lot. Sony is talking about hundreds of projects, including Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War Ragnarök, Mortal Kombat 11, Resident Evil 4, Dead Island 2, Genshin Impact, Fall Guys, and Fortnite. It is worth understanding that this is not an analog of Game Pass: games will have to be purchased. Of course, except for those cases when the game is available for free as part of the same PS Plus subscription.
Players will also have the opportunity to choose the rendering resolution: from 720p to 4K UHD.
