PUBG 10.3 Update Now Available on PC

Season 10, which brought the season-only Haven map to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, is about to end. But the developers have made fans of this battle royale happy with the 10.3 update, which is already available in the PC version. It brought a ton of performance improvements, bug fixes, and some new features.

For example, the map “Karakin” received improved lighting, thanks to which now each zone has its own recognizable atmosphere. We also fixed several obvious problems and errors that affected the experience of battles in this arena.

The second significant innovation is the choice of weapon sounds. This new feature, available in the Settings menu under the Audio tab, will allow players to choose between original and revised sound effects for specific weapons such as the M249, M416, Kar98k, and SKS.

The third change is the ability to share emotions with your squad. From now on, some emotes can be used in conjunction with teammates, synchronizing them within 15 meters. To find out how many players will be able to support each emotion, you can go to “Main Menu – Appearance – Emotions.”

The reputation system added in 10.2 has also been improved to encourage positive interaction between players. As a result of the last change, leaving the match while in the starting area before boarding an aircraft will not negatively affect reputation (in regular, non-ranked games).

The 10.3 updates also brought new cosmetics, store optimizations, bug fixes, and several performance improvements:

  • on a CPU with few cores;
  • due to the optimized lighting calculation pipeline;
  • through parallel processing of character animation and vehicle physics calculations;
  • by optimizing memory usage by character models;
  • by reducing the unit cost of memory optimizations and computations;
  • by improving the logic for creating and deleting characters;
  • by optimizing objects such as furniture and stairs, you can normally look through the crosshair (ADS) even at medium to long distances.
