Rainbow Six Siege 8-minute video featuring Sam Fisher and the new season

The new season of Operation Shadow Legacy of the tactical competitive shooter Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege kicks off on test servers today. And the developers have presented a fresh video dedicated to the innovations and changes that await players in this major update.

The main innovation is, of course, the new Zero operator, which was rumored a week ago. We are talking about the aged Sam Fisher from the Splinter Cell series, whose identity is shrouded in mystery. This fighter is great for assault. He wields an SC-3000K rifle with multiple scopes and a silenced pistol, and can also be armed with an MP7 submachine gun.

A special feature of this operative is the “Argus” launcher, which allows you to receive intelligence about enemies. With a shot, Sam Fisher can secure a special charge with two cameras on the destructible site: they will allow you to monitor what is happening from both sides of the barrier. Walls, ceilings, floors, hatches are all potential charge locations. In addition, this device with a laser beam can destroy rivals’ gadgets or inflict minor damage to enemies (for example, to finish them off).

At the same time, the “Argus” also has disadvantages: when fixed on the surface, a characteristic sound is emitted, and the bug is destroyed with one shot. Also, the device is eliminated by contact with a surface undercurrent, and the Mute noise generator does not allow it to work. Operators Wamai and Jager’s gadgets shoot down the shell on the way.

In the new season, the gameplay will also be improved – for example, the new mechanic “Markers 2.0” is shown, thanks to which each ally will receive a marker with its own number, which will make it possible to understand who installed it. Both drones and cameras will be able to put marks, and the markers will tell you what is highlighted: a device, a deactivator, or an important point.

Also, the new season will expand the scope options; will allow you to change the color of the crosshair; will allow the defenders to have 10 boosts regardless of the number of players at the beginning of the battle; will give the besiegers an enhanced charge that can penetrate even fortified walls; will provide a reworked EMP grenade and more. An important innovation will be the revision of the Chalet card.
