IFixit specialists published an updated rating of the best smartphones in terms of their maintainability.
Rating of the most repairable smartphones in the world
The first place went to Fairphone 3, which became the second phone in history to receive the highest rating from iFixit. Fairphone 3 has the same modular design as its predecessor, including several modules that can be easily replaced. The device also has a removable battery, which is rare in our time. Key components such as the battery and Fairphone 3 screen can be accessed with a standard Phillips screwdriver or Torx screwdriver.
The second place was taken by Shift6m, which was created by the German company Shiftphone. The smartphone received 9 points out of 10 possible, it was praised for the easily removable battery, and also because the display is held in place without glue only with screws and clips.
In third place was last year’s low-cost smartphone Google Pixel 3a, which received 6 points. Next comes last year’s OnePlus 7T, which received 5 points. These smartphones are not very easy to repair, but in this regard, they are still superior to most Android phones on the market.
