Realme launches world’s first 4K SLED smart TV

Realme has announced the development of the world’s first smart TV, the screen of which is made using SLED technology. This type of panel is said to provide excellent color reproduction and significantly reduce eye strain.

SLED technology was developed by Realme specialists in collaboration with John Roymans, a leading researcher at SPD Technology (Spectral Power Distribution).

The creators explain that most LED TVs, including QLED, use blue backlighting, which is then converted to white. In the SLED panels, RGB backlighting is already included in the initial stage.

This approach, it is argued, allows you to achieve a wide color gamut: the claimed coverage of the NTSC space reaches 108%. In addition, the intensity of the emitted blue light is significantly reduced, which is confirmed by the TÜV Rheinland certification. This helps to reduce eye fatigue and improve long-term viewing comfort.

It is known that the first Realme SLED TV was a 55-inch model with a 4K resolution – 3840 × 2160 pixels. Unfortunately, it is not yet clear when and at what price the new product will enter the commercial market.
