Apple has released a fresh update to the mobile platform for the iPhone. The iOS 16.6 update is the sixth update since the release of iOS 16 in September 2022.

This update contains important security-related bug fixes. It is recommended for installation by all users.
iOS 16.6 can be downloaded over the air by going to Settings > General > Software Update. For those unable or unwilling to upgrade to iOS 16, the company has also released the iOS 15.7.8 update with similar fixes and recommendations.
You can install iOS 15.7.8 on iPhone 6s (all models), iPhone 7 (all models), iPhone SE (1st generation), iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad mini 4 and later, and iPod touch (7th generation).
