Redmi 9T unboxing video: slightly improved Poco M3 under a different brand

Recently, Xiaomi has frequently renamed Redmi smartphones to Poco devices in other markets. Now we are talking about the opposite process: Poco M3 in some markets, it seems, will be sold as Redmi 9T. A video of the Redmi 9T unboxing has been seen on YouTube confirming that the device will actually be a rebrand of the Poco M3 (or China’s Redmi Note 9 4G ). The video even shows how the M3 works side-by-side with the Redmi 9T.

The video was published on the Mobile Tech Podcast channel. The Redmi 9T has a key difference from the Poco M3, which lies in the finish of the body and the configuration of the rear camera. While the Poco M3 has three rear cameras, the 9T has four modules. The fourth is an 8MP ultra-wide-angle in addition to the main 48MP, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens.

The display and other features are the same. We are talking about a 6.53-inch IPS screen with Full HD + resolution (1080 × 2340). The screen has a teardrop notch for the front 8-megapixel camera. The smartphone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage. The device is also equipped with a large 6000 mAh battery.

There is no information yet on when the device will hit the market, but it has already been certified in Thailand. In addition, Xiaomi’s Malaysian division recently launched a competition that will end on January 7, 2021 – 10 lucky people will receive a certain device (presumably we are talking about Redmi 9T). Thus, the device will be launched shortly.
