Redmi has no plans to use sub-screen cameras.

He confirmed that all Redmi K40 models would be equipped with 120Hz flat OLED screens with a front camera hole. Redmi K40 will receive the world’s smallest front camera embedded into the screen. The hole diameter is only 2.8 mm.

Wang Teng Thomas noted that the manufacturer will not use the sub-screen camera technology in the Redmi K40 and added that Redmi fans waiting for the release of such smartphones would have to be patient.

Xiaomi showed off its third-generation sub-screen camera technology last year. The technology has already reached the level of mass production. The company says the respective smartphones will be released this year.

The lineup is expected to include the Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro models. The older one will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 single-chip system, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 flash memory, and the battery capacity will exceed 4000 mAh.

The Redmi K40 series has a starting price of $ 465, making it the cheapest smartphone based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. It is credited with being the “King of 2021 flagships”.
