Redmi will be one of the first companies to launch smartphones based on the Snapdragon 888 SoC
According to the Chinese publication My drivers, the Redmi K40 smartphone may be launched very soon, or rather by the end of this month. As for the Redmi K40 Pro, it will be released in the first quarter of 2021.
Redmi K40 will be released in December, and Redmi K40 Pro will follow in the first quarter of 2021
Recall that last year the company chose the same strategy, first presenting the Redmi K30 at the end of the year, and then releasing the older version of the Redmi K30 Pro in early 2020. The strategy has paid off, so the manufacturer will stick to it.
Shortly after the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit on December 1, Redmi CEO Lu Weibing announced that Redmi would be one of the first companies to launch smartphones based on the Snapdragon 888 SoC.
According to the latest data, Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro will lose the proprietary retractable selfie camera that their predecessors had. Smartphones are expected to have a notch like most smartphones today. Redmi K40 Pro should receive a flat OLED screen with a high refresh rate, and the hole for the front camera will have a diagonal of only 3.7 mm. In addition to the flagship platform, support for fast charging is also expected.
As for the standard model Redmi K40, it should receive an LCD screen and a 4500 mAh battery.
