Xiaomi does not indulge users of its smartphones with long-term software support
Xiaomi introduced Redmi K60 Ultra a week ago , but for some reason only now announced that the smartphone will receive software updates for 5 years. This is important, since Xiaomi, unlike Apple and Samsung, does not indulge users with long-term software support for their devices, for which it is often criticized.
Redmi K60 Ultra will be updated for 5 years
With Redmi K60 Ultra, Xiaomi enters the Samsung software support level, however, other brands like Vivo and OnePlus have previously announced long-term (for 4-5 years) support for their flagship devices. The Redmi K60 Ultra came out with Android 13, but it is guaranteed to get Android 17. It would be nice if more affordable smartphones (like the Redmi Note series) also get updated within 5 years.
Recall that Redmi K60 Ultra is built on SoC MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Plus. The smartphone is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery with support for 120 W fast charging, a 50-megapixel camera. The top version has 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of flash memory, and this option has just gone on sale in China .
