Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has begun sending out invitations to an event dedicated to presenting the brand’s first gaming smartphone. The novelty will join the Redmi K40 family, dubbed the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition. The presentation of the mobile device for gamers will take place in China on April 27.

The company’s plans to launch a gaming smartphone were announced earlier this month by Redmi, Lu Weibing. He noted that the gaming segment would be Redmi’s next main target in 2021, as gaming phones are in high demand among users.

Weibing added that it will be a versatile phone offering high performance, content display, and control and will become the lightest and thinnest hardcore gaming device on the market.

Judging by the teaser, on the side surface of the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition case, there is a button for starting the game mode, which will be on top of the smartphone is placed horizontally. When the game mode is activated, the LED strips located around the camera lenses will light up.

As for the smartphone specifications, Liu Weibing said that the device would be based on the eight-core processor MediaTek Density 1200. According to the Chinese publication Sina, the game phone will have an AMOLED display Samsung E4 with a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. The smartphone is expected to receive a 5000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. The resource also claims that the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition will cost around $ 305. This will make it the most affordable gaming smartphone on the market.
