Jio Bharat program aims to sell 1 million phones

The Indian operator Reliance Jio, due to the huge population of India, is the third largest operator in the world. Among other things, this means a huge number of customers to whom you can sell something new. The company claims that about 250 million people in India are “stuck in the 2G era”, that is, they use very old mobile phones, and Jio wants to fix this.

Reliance Jio wants to pull out Indians who are ‘stuck in the 2G era’

The operator announced the Jio Bharat program, within which it will offer users phones with 4G support for only $12! Moreover, such users will also receive very favorable rates.

The program starts on July 7 and will aim to sell 1 million phones. When buying a phone, the user will be connected to a tariff that gives unlimited calls and 500 MB of traffic per day at a price of $ 1.5 per month. It is 30% cheaper than competitors, and at the same time, traffic volume is seven times higher.

As for phones, nothing much is known about them. These are ordinary push-button models, but with JioPay support, a camera, the ability to view videos and a language translator.
