The Moscow automobile plant Moskvich, which officially cooperates with KamAZ and unofficially with the Chinese company JAC, may find a new technological partner from China.
According to the Chinese Automobiles portal, citing its own sources from the Celestial Empire, JMEV should become a new partner of Moskvich. It is a joint venture between Jiangling Motors Corporation Group, China Agricultural Development Corporation and Renault Group. As a result, the French company Renault can return to the Russian plant, from which it left last year.

Cooperation with a Russian company may threaten JMEV with secondary sanctions in Europe and the United States, but sources say that the process has already been launched, and negotiations on the appearance of the brand in Russia began in October 2022.
“Moskvich will assemble the JMEV GSE sedan. Moscow already has samples. JMC gave Moskvich the authority to assemble and sell this model in the Russian Federation under its own brand, ”an interlocutor familiar with the plans of Jiangling Motors Corporation Group told Chinese Automobiles.
KamAZ CEO Sergey Kogogin said earlier that this year the Moskvich plant will release new models in the SUV segment and a sedan at the end of the year .
The Moskvich press service declined to comment on the company’s plans.
