As a few months earlier, as of September 30, 2020, Capcom’s platinum list, which includes games from the publisher with more than 1 million copies sold, totals 102 positions.

Over the period from June 30 to September 30 of this year, the following Capcom projects have shown significant sales growth:

  • Iceborne add-on to Monster Hunter: World – 800 thousand copies (6.6 million total);
  • Resident Evil 7 – 400 thousand copies (8.3 million);
  • Monster Hunter: World – 300 thousand copies (16.4 million);
  • a remake of Resident Evil 2 – 300 thousand copies (7.5 million);
  • a remake of Resident Evil 3 – 300 thousand copies (3 million);
  • Street Fighter V – 300 thousand copies (5 million);
  • Devil May Cry 5 – 200,000 copies (3.9 million)As you can see, Resident Evil 7 (8.3 million) breaks away from its closest pursuers in the fight for the title of the best-selling single release of the series: Resident Evil 5 (7.7 million), Resident Evil 6 (7.6 million), Resident Evil 2 (7.5 million).

    At this rate, the still newest part of Resident Evil can reach the goal set by the Capcom leadership in April 2017 – 10 million sold copies.

    Capcom’s closest confirmed major release is Resident Evil Village. It is slated to premiere in 2021 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, and S, but horror may also hit PS4 and Xbox One.

    According to unofficial reports, the Japanese publishing house is also preparing for the release of Street Fighter VI. With the production of the fighting game allegedly there were problems, so the game will not be released until 2022.
