Returnal will be able to run on PS5 in dynamic 4K @ 60 fps and with ray tracing
Sony Interactive Entertainment and Housemarque have added more information to their roguelike shooter Returnal on the PlayStation website.
In particular, the developers shared technical details. As it turns out, Returnal will run on the PlayStation 5 in dynamic 4K @ 60fps and ray-traced.
Also, Housemarque promises “amazing visuals,” “fluid simulation of weather and environment control,” and “innovative particle animations” for enemies and environments.
According to Ethan Watson, director of technology at Housemarque, the PS5’s hardware-based ray tracing enabled the studio to deliver “high-quality, real-time lighting. “
“Our global illumination system uniquely adapts to the randomness [of objects] in the world, and neon projectiles create the arcade, unreal atmosphere for which our team is famous,” said Watson.
Recall that Returnal talks about the attempts of the female astronaut Selena to get out of the time loop on the exotic planet Atropos, where the heroine ended up as a result of the crash of her spaceship.
Return is expected to be released on April 30 this year exclusively on PlayStation 5. This week, journalists from various publications demonstrated up to 45 minutes of gameplay of the upcoming roguelike shooter.
