The Falconeer offers an open world, flying, and dynamic aerial combat with the ability to explore a fantasy world that exists not only in the clouds but also among the ocean depths. The action takes place in Great Ursi – an ancient place rich in human creations and natural wonders. Wrong decisions and betrayals were woven into a knot for centuries until they led this world to a war of factions.

Players will have to look for treasures and lost technologies, face pirates, and amazing creatures. Becoming a Rider, you will have to soar into the heavens on the back of a mighty warbird. During the game, you can join one of the factions or clans that were formed in the Great Ursi. It is necessary to choose the Horseman of one of the available classes – each has its own characteristics, weapons, and warships, which can be improved by winning battles, completing tasks, discovering secrets, or using mutagens and spells. The gameplay involves the use of currents of wind and energy of the ocean to dive, dodge, flip, and spin, gaining advantages over rivals.

Tomas Sala recently revealed that The Falconeer is optimized for the new Xbox consoles. For example, on the Xbox Series S, the action will be able to run in 1800p @ 60fps in normal mode and 1080p @ 120fps in performance mode. On Xbox Series X, you can freely count on 4K @ 60fps or 1800p @ 120fps.

The project was originally announced for PC, but later the Xbox One was added to the list of supported ones. System requirements on computers are very modest: Intel Core i3, 4 GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 6770, 5 GB of disk space. The first responses have already appeared on Steam, and they are mixed (62% positive, with 16 ratings at the time of writing). The critics’ rating on Metacritic is also not very high and ranges from 60% to 74% depending on the platform.

Thomas Sala is an independent developer and co-founder of Little Chicken Game Company. He is best known for his Moonpath to Elsweyr mod series for Skyrim, although he also created projects such as Rekt! (iOS and Switch), SPD (iOS) and TrackLab (PSVR).
