The Swedish studio Experiment 101, founded by the former creative director of Avalanche Studios Stefan Ljungqvist, has been working on the game for about three years. For a long time, the developers did not report anything about the game, which led to rumours about the termination of work on the project. In February 2020, the studio said that despite the lack of news, the game is in the works and they “never worked harder than they do now.”

Biomutant takes place in a post-apocalyptic open world. Users will be able to change the abilities and appearance of the character through mutations and prosthetics. In addition, the game will have psi-mutations that will allow you to levitate or teleport. The developers call the project “a fairy tale about kung fu”.
