Vedomosti characterizes these sites as persistent copyright infringers
Roskomnadzor has entered 1,768 domain site addresses into the ALERT database of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The press service of the department told about it.
Roskomnadzor added more than 1.7 thousand pirate sites to the international database.
Roskomnadzor characterizes these sites as persistent copyright infringers, on which “information containing objects of copyright and (or) related rights has been repeatedly and unlawfully posted.”
For each of the resources, the Moscow City Court decided to restrict access permanently in Russia by Article 15.6 of Federal Law No. 149-FZ “On Information, Information Technologies, and Information Protection.”
Domain addresses were added to the database in October-December 2020 as part of implementing the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Roskomnadzor and WIPO in September 2020.
The ALERT database is a mechanism that allows the WIPO Member States and their institutions to share lists of copyright-infringing sites to discourage advertisers from placing advertisements on such sites.
